The shelves in Heather Edwards’ warm, bright studio shine with deep blues, rich purples and flourishes of earthy brown. They’re lined with hand-thrown mugs, dreamy, deep soup bowls and petal-sculpted plates, just-right juicers and plucky round crocks. It’s here, as you enter and pause at the colours and shapes – that little gray Luna, the studio cat, will greet you, and if you’re willing, climb into your arms for some upside-down cuddles.
At the benches and tables – loaded with just glazed pieces and some still warm from the gas-fired kiln – is where you’ll find Heather and her husband, Kim Hoar, busy at work. Besides the gleaming feast of colour and all the kitten cuddles – the highlight of your studio visit is watching these artists work.
