Despite its location, the University of Calgary Bookstore is open to the public in terms of supplies such as pens, paper, binders and backpacks. For post-secondary students, university textbooks – fiction and non-fiction – are organized by class numbers in a separate area of the store.

While the university may not be the first place you look for leisure-time reading, its well-stocked bookstore on the first floor of MacEwan Conference & Event Centre does purchase and sell used textbooks as well as classic novels. Textbook buybacks are held twice annually.
