The service was impeccable. We visited right after lunch, and our server was efficient, on top of the drinks and really helpful with lunch suggestions. I was not hungry and tempted to go with a salad, but was prompted to go with the chimmychungas.
The food was great - for lunch - healthy sides, large portions and generous amounts of sauce. Add in a couple of sangria's and lunch for two is complete.
Great lunch atmosphere, good Mexican food. A reliable, old favorite.
Julio’s makes ‘em right. They claim they’re good for two-to-four amigos; however, this amigo does not like to share. They are piled high with a Monterey jack and cheddar cheese blend, black olives, jalapenos, tomatoes and green onions and served with Julio’s salsa, sour cream and guac.
Located on Whyte Avenue, this fun Mexican spot always has a full patio in summer. People come here for margs and bulldogs year-round though. There’s
everything from the original bulldog (tequila, lime slush and a Corona) to the bloodhound (spiced rum, Absolut mandarin, raspberry sour puss, raspberry slush and a bottle of Stella Artois). Other popular choices include the “Dog”tor Pepper (spiced rum, root beer schnapps, amaretto, lime slush and a bottle of Bud Light Lime) and the Krazy Kanuck (Polar Ice vodka, Jagermeister, Red Bull, margarita slush and a bottle of Kokanee).
Who needs the beach when you’ve got Julio’s? There’s nothing like sippin’ on something slushy and soaking up some sun to make you feel like you’re in Mexico. Kick back on their patio and get ready to enjoy one of their signature Bulldogs to get that South of the border feeling right here at home.
