Since 1998 the Commission has been a registered non-profit society. The Commission for Children and Families BC is named in provincial legislation as the designated authority for children and families throughout BC. It works with service providing agencies to strengthen and sustain healthy communities for our children and families and assists in the development of infrastructure in B.C. Volunteer Board of Directors in accordance with Part 6 and 7 of the bylaws that state Appointment of DirectorsThe society shall consist of 3-9 Commissioners Each Commissioner to be appointed as a Provincial representative;As a provincial board the representation should consist of a broad base of urban, rural and geographic areas that bring a provincial perspective.Two government ex-officio representatives .The minimum number of directors required for the society to be effective must be three or another number determined from time to time at a general meeting. more...
