Once upon a long time ago, this Vancouver heritage building was envisioned in 1899 by two respected Vancouver businessmen: Architect John Edmeston Parr and a Speculative Developer Thomas Arthur Fee.
Old meets new at the historic Moda Hotel on Seymour Street. Here the 100-year-old mosaic tile floors and refurbished original crown mouldings are juxtaposed with modish red and black Italian-inspired décor touches that give the 67 guest rooms a sleek, urban feel. In keeping with the Italian theme, on-site restaurants Cibo Trattoria and Uva Wine Bar serve up rustic European fare – espresso and pastries by day; regional wines and made-from-scratch pasta dishes by night.
