When She to Shic Boutique Beauty Lounge owner Erin Shum started her salon with her mother, she knew right away that it would have an eco-friendly focus. “We decided we wanted something that was organic and natural,” Erin says. “And that wasn't available in Vancouver at the time, back in 2009.” Their ideal target was to create a spa environment that was both luxurious and affordable, a place that would welcome people of all ages and cultural backgrounds.
“With the beauty service industry, you can have quality service without paying an arm and a leg,” Erin says. That affordability is a key feature for her clients, who are often preparing for special occasions like weddings, graduation ceremonies, anniversaries or birthdays. She knows that looking good and feeling great are key to making momentous occasions even more memorable, and keeping prices within reach is an important part of that.
