Secretary was extremely rude and not helpful at all.
Both Dr. Hughes and her staff are professional, caring and thorough!! I just had an awesome experience with them! Their care and concern for animals is readily apparent and they act accordingly! Thank you for a wonderful experience!
The vet here thrives on lecturing and shaming. As an owner who has given my 13 year old dog and best friend nothing but the best in veterinary care, nutrition and love for his whole life, to be harassed with such judgement on one of the most difficult days for both me and my dog was absolutely cold, unprofessional and uncalled for.
We've been taking our 3 dogs to SFX Animal Hosp for the past 6 yrs.My 14 year old Cocker Spaniel X was quite sick and vomiting and we took him to SFX.Blood was taken, and rushed it to U of M for analysis. The next week we took him again to SFX and we were told to take him for an ultrasound for his abdomen.Nothing showed up.We went back to SFX and they could not find out why he was throwing up. My Polo was suffering 2 1/2 weeks&we had to put him down. I would not take any of my animal to SFX.
They saved my best friends life. My kitty is my best friend, and he had some BAD gingivitis. I was previously taking him to Corydon(profit driven). They said it'd cost around a 1000 for teeth removal I made the drive out for a second opinion. They went up and beyond to fix my kitty up. There is a chance I could not afford to save him if it were anywhere else. Dr. Hughes is amazing. See her, you wont regret it!
I have 3 cats and Dr. Betty Hughes is by far the best, most knowledgeable small animal vet that I have ever dealt with.
Resently our lovable11 yr old German sheppard dog that we had from birth became ill and the staff at the hospital were the most compassionate people that anyone would be happy to know. When Dr. Betty explained to us that he was in quite a bit of pain and he would only have a couple of days left she was visably upset and sad that a member of our family would not be with us any longer. Thank you to all the staff from Harley for all the wonderful care that you gave me.
I phoned to ask for a quote to check my cat for ear mites. Wouldn't give me a quote, but gave me a lecture instead. Has your cat been here before Has he been vaccinated, if not won't check him unless he has He might be overweight He might have other medical problems that require checking Pets require regular checkups..blah blah blah I mentioned that he is an indoor cat. Receptionist very saracastically tells me.."well, if he's an indoor cat how on earth would he get ear mites!!" In all honesty, he goes out sometimes but he is always tied on a short string, and is not allowed to roam the neighborhood..but still. Then she made some kind of comment about him being an outdoor cat. After all of this I never got a price for an exam. I was kind of sick of her tone, told her that I guess they couldn't help me after all, and hung up. I guess they were more concerned with making a profit off of every other procedure except the blasted ear check. Typical. Vet visits these days are not cheap, and with me not working, the usual $50 and up just to walk thru the door is staggering. I don't have a problem taking him to the vet, I just don't like them pushing every other costly procedure under the sun on me...like a salesperson...then being cheesed off when I say no.
