Great tacos!
We knew that this was a good food/bad service kind of place...but this was almost funny. They didn't write down our order, so some of us received the wrong food. No cutlery, no water at a Mexican restaurant? We had to ask for salsa/hot sauce. Our beer was served in a can (you have to ask for a glass). One margurita hadn't arrived for 20 minutes so we asked about it. 10 minutes later it came and then the original drink ordered came 15 minutes after that.. Out of stock on the local draft beer (again). They couldn't give us a bill because they didn't know what we ordered. We all laughed, but it was kind of pathetic considering that this place has the makings of a good restaurant.
the food is great, the owners are fantastic! live music, the best part, the food and staff. i've heard people complain about the "time" it takes to get food. this restaurant is about spending an evening out. if you need to be somewhere in 30 mins, grab a burger. if you need something, ask an employee, they will be nice enough to help you out. tried all the food and it is great. it may not be "authentic" to the "T", but great food is great food! i'm there at least once a week. also have heard customers rave that the Margarita is one of the best anywhere! even people that have travelled all over the world! for the complainers....there is lots of space downtown Cambridge, open up a restaurant and give this one a run for it's money if you can do better! BTW, EVERY person i have brought there, loves it!
Having growth up in California and lived for several years down south, I have come to know good Mexican food. Unfortunately this place does not have that. The portions are small, I ordered the chimichanga and there was 80% rice in it with barely any meat. What meat there was had next to no taste and I believe they put FETA on top!! What a crime that such a thing was allowed to happen. I am also perplexed as to why such a small portion of chips and salsa? I was done with it before the waitress had gone ten feet. Mexican food is know for it's tastiness and the robustness in portion size. This restaurant had neither. We will not be coming back.
The food is great, but the service is brutal,I completely understand that it's made fresh to order and it authentic, but the waitress did not even speak English, waited 45 min and brought us one soup...paid for two coronas and walked out......no chips salsa, hire a more organized wait staff, keep the experts in the kitchen
This is the worst experience that I've ever had, service was bad: water for tea was not hot, didn't get chips until 20 min after we were sitted, waited for over 40 min for our food....and the taste of the food surprised me and my friend.....won't go there again.....
This place had promise the woman was friendly but the portions were very small for what the cost was the food was bland at best I make better Mexican food than this place as I said in my intro don't waste your time or money no ambiance dead silence could hear everyone's conversations nachos were small and not worth the price overall it was a horrible experience
Firstly I loved the fresh complementary in-house Nacho chips and dip. Then the main meal was very tasty and authentic... Not that fast food you get when you pay less money The food quality was very good and the young girl who served us was very friendly. The music provided by the guitar player was very pleasant. (we enjoyed hearing Everly Brothers and other 50's and 60's tunes in Spanish) My wife is vegetarian so she had lots of choices. My wife and I would definitely go again.
I LOVE THIS RESTAURANT! I go every week and I've just placed today's order and I'm getting ready to go pick it up! I CAN'T WAIT! I absolutely love everything about this place. I've been an avid fan for over 3 years! (see my review 2008). Patricia, the owner, is the nicest woman and cares so much about her patrons. I LOVE HER!
Now called Mi Casa es Tu Casa on Main & we went after an appointment at the bank this evening. This is the real thing!!!! The smiles when we entered, the smells coming form the kitchen, the decor.... My spousal unit & I decided to stop in and try it, after an appointment at the bank & I am so glad we did. Everything was homemade & heavenly. Very gracious people at the door & at my table. We definitely be back and the next time we will bring some friends!
Two co workers and I went to El Rinconsito Mexicano today for lunch. Actually this restaurant has recently moved to a larger location just a block away on Main Street and changed its name to Mi Casa es Tu Casa but it is the same owners. We ordered the nachos first to share and they were fantastic. The 2 different salsa/dips for them were awesome - so fresh and flavourful. The toppings, especially the meat, were just right - not too much but just enough for each tortilla chip. Contrary to other reviews on here, our food came pretty quickly and was served hot - we actually had to wait a few minutes to eat because the food was so hot. I had the Tacos Dorados with chicken (it came with 4 tacos) which were bursting with flavour and were very filling for only $8. They also came with a side of rice and refried beans. I used the green salsa that was served with the nachos to also dip my tacos and it was heaven with every bite. One co worker had the Chicken Quesadillas and he raved about the taste - so fresh and tasted homemade. My other co worker had been here before and was the one who recommended it to us. This visit she had the burrito and she also raved about the taste and how fresh the flavours were. The last time she was here, she had the chimichanga and highly recommended that too. The decor is very basic but we really enjoyed the Mexican music that was playing while we ate. Our server was very friendly as was everyone working who we passed on our way into and out of the restaurant today. Our bill only came to $45 for all 3 of us today and that was for an appetizer that we split, 3 entrees and 3 cans of pop - we all thought that it was very good value. All 3 of us will be back and we all highly recommend giving this place a try if you're looking for fresh, homemade, authentic Mexican food in the Cambridge area.
We ordered take out and when we picked it up, the order was missing 2 items. This took 20 minutes to prepare and our other items were cold when we returned home. we could not tell the difference between the chicken gorditas and pork sopes. there was very little meat, cheese and alot of lettuce. we were promised salsa and did not receive any. the quanitity was very disappointing and the guacamole was definitely not worth $9. very overpriced for the service, qualilty and quantity. the nachos were overcooked.
We went there for a birthday party. The 14 of us certainly overtaxed the tiny kitchen but everyone who worked there did a great job of making us know that they valued us being there. They made free tostadas as appetizers for the entire group. The food, as usual, was great, although I always always always forget to order the enchilada for myself (my wife ordered it) and get the burrito (which is really good but the enchilada comes with beans and rice). This is my favourite restaurant in this area.
I eat here once a week at least with a group of folks that i work ith, and let me say it's unbelievable every single time. I started with a burrito and now i eat the Toastada's!! The ladies who work here are very nice and are happy to see return customers. Great food and I am absolutely addicted.
