Went for breakfast with my friend and first of all they spilt the coffee in the saucer which is a pet peeve of mine and then our waiter seemed affronted that I requested a clean saucer or serviette to mop it up with. Later our waiter spilt coffee on my friends hand as he was pouring it. We had to ask for things that should have been done automatically, to be honest, I felt like going in the kitchen and getting things myself - if your servers can't anticipate what is required for toast there is a slight problem...Also I resent having to pay a tip in North America if service has been below standard, I believe you shouldn't have to pay a tip unless the service and food has been exceptional. Food was tasty but because venue was so cold due to air con it was lukewarm to cool by the time it was served to us.
