Born and raised in Sarnia, Ontario, Gary McCracken started playing drums before he was a teenager and took up guitar not long after. After drumming for Max Webster and several other bands, Gary settled down in Sarnia in the early 80s to teach music and make experimental recordings such as the instrumental, solo project Audioscapes.
