Just returned to the Royal Thai for the second time.
Once again the food was great.
It is too bad we will not be in Leamington again until next summer.
But when we are there we will make it a point of going there for dinner.
Tom Ka Curry (coconut curry) was excellent. I never had this type of curry before. My girlfriend had the
cashew nut chicken dish, she ate it so fast with hardly a rice kernel left over. I almost forgot, we also had the pork deep fried spring rolls, mmm mmm good. Needless to say we'll definitely be back. We even drove from Windsor to check it out.
Panang curry was excellent, service great and the owner is great. This one is worth going to. The place is small but fine and the menu has very good choice
The location is basic, but that does not matter.
What does is that the food is GREAT, and very well priced. True Thai cooking(yes, a non-Thai out front but the wife is!)
Stop by, you will go back.....
JaneL Best south Asian restaurant in Leamington and wide area.
Do you like really good Thai cuisine? If so, better patronise this little restaurant early and often. I have eaten Thai food throughout North America and in much of Europe, and the food at Roy Thai stands up to anything in comparison. The restaurant is small and Spartan but very clean. The host is Caucasian and his Thai wife is a remarkably fine chef with a wide repertoire of recipes to offer.
My taste runs to very hot and spicy offerings, but the chef can prepare food to suit any palate from mild to fiery.
I was accompanied by my two daughters who have also travelled extensively and enjoy Thai cuisine. They live in Toronto but hope to eat at Roy Thai when they next visit me.
Please don't hang about! If it does not develop a clientele, Roy Thai will be gone and you will miss out on an exceptional addition to the restaurants of Leamington.
[Our meal left us full and a doggy bag was needed to take home extras.]
