Best chicken wings in the city ! I absolutely LOVE this restaurant !!
Great place in London for ribs and fried chicken. If you like meat then this is the place for you. So much food that you'll be taken some home for tomorrow's lunch. The 7 Sauces are great on their own or mix'em together for a flavor explosion. The wing night is great and if you can enter the contest, but you'll have to sign a waiver cuz that is the hotest sauce I ever had. Anyways we had teh BBQ for 2 which is the best bang for the buck here.
I loved every part of my experience at Smoke-n-Bones! The food is amazing! The service is great and the atmosphere is very comfortable. The mistake I made is that I drove by it so many times before I finally went in for myself. I've been missing out and I'm writing this review to make sure you don't. Everyone at my table was thrilled! We'll be back for sure and they'll be catering my next function.
You know I have been out of town for a few months and haven't had the time to make it back to town with my friends. I tell you what this time was no exception, the food was great. We ordered a Big Easy which had a huge basket come to our table this was a platter for 2 but could have feed a small army, it had Ny steak, 1/2 a rib, 1/2 chicken, and shrimp with all the fixin's on the side. And for dessert we had a couple of milehigh cheesecakes. All I have to say is Smoke-n-Bones keep up the good work. In rough times when everyone money is tight you still deliver great food. Awesome value!!
I always get the BBQ for two just because I get a little of everything. Best BBQ bar none.
What an awesome experience! First time trying southern bbq and I definitely was not disappointed! The food, atmosphere and service were fantastic! I had the wings - they were amazing! Loved that they came naked and I could choose from different sauces on the table. My friend had the pulled pork sandwich which she loved (along with some really tasty wedges - warmed up the next day in the microwave...still amazing!). The other two in our group ordered a share platter - so much food!! Honestly, a large amount of food for the price you pay. Some seriously good southern bbq. The waitress was super friendly and service was great. I will definitely be back and tell others about this place! Thanks Smoke n Bones!
My wife and I went there a few months ago when they first opened. Our youngest daughter accompanied us. We were greeted very pleasantly, and were very excited to try some "southern" ribs and chicken! Our waitress was very friendly and outgoing. I ordered the ribs, but was advised they would not be ready for several hours??? This kind of made me upset, as I had my heart set on it. I looked over the menu while my wife ordered. She ordered wings, but was told it would be at least a 45-minute wait, as they were just preparing them. I thought this odd, as it was the supper hour (6:00 p.m.). We decided to wait the 45-minutes, and all 3 of us ordered the wings. While waiting for the wings, approximately 15-minutes later, the waitress advised us the wings may "take a little longer". A little annoyed now, I figured I might as well order a draft beer if we were going to wait this long for the meal. I asked what draft beer they had, and I ordered a large Coors Light. Another 10-minutes later, the waitress came over and advised me they had no Coors light left. She started to giggle, advising us, "I don't think this is your night". I advised her "not here". We all got up and left. I saw other customers that were just as frustrated, and did see another couple leave as well. We left and went to a different restaurant where we had a good meal. Needless to say, I was EXCEPTIONALLY dissappointed with Smoke-N-Bones. I did consider they were only in business less than a month, so we agreed to return once they "had their act together". We did return last week. I was not at all impressed. Service was SLOW to say the least. Food was EXCEPTIONALLY greasy, and way overpriced. There are MANY more restaurants out there that give you triple the value for your hard earned money. Sorry Smoke-N-Bones, but my Family will not be back. Nor will I recommend you.
This is my new favorite place to eat. I got take out but I want to go back and dine in soon. It looked very nice in there and the service was excelent. I had a big order and the waitress remembered everything I couldnt believe it. I thought foresure she might forget something but she didnt. I am very impressed with this place. I loved the food. The sauces are super yummy!
Wow SarahM, you must be either the owner of a competing restaurant, or a bitter ex girlfriend of one of the owners! The failure of this restaurant seems strangely important to you! However I think your attempt will fail because Smoke N Bones is simply amazing! The food is fantastic! Very unique. I love that they have a great southern dining atmosphere during meal times and yet also provide fun entertainment most evenings! I have never been to a southern BBQ, but I would expect it to be all about great food, and good times to follow! Smoke N Bones nailed it!
Well, we finally made our way to Smoke and Bones last night for a taste of something different. On arrival we were seated right away as the place was not to busy. Our waiting promptly greeted us at the table and was very polite but a little inexperienced when it came to assisting us to warm up a baby bottle. After 3 trips to the table he brought enough hot water to complete this task. They dropped off an assortment of sauces at the table (6 I believe) as all the meat comes plain for you to dress up and way you want. We ordered the BBQ for 2 which included pulled pork,ribs,2 pieces of chicken, spicy wedges and corn bread. We also ordered wings to try, The food came in a timely manner and was an impressive spread with plenty to eat. The overall taste in general was ok. I really didn't find anything spectacular about the meal nor the smoking process. Sure it's taste's a bit different and the meat is pink but other than that, not really a big deal. The Sauces that they make themselves were ok, out of the 6 I found nothing I would take home (as they offer at $6 a bottle) They all seem to have the same base with slight flavour and heat alterations. I had the peach cobbler after reading some of the site reviews. To be honest I have never had stone cold peach cobbler. It actually tasted really good after I took in home and microwaved it for 30 seconds. The bill as always seemed to take a long time to come, with kids this is a real pain sometimes. Overall the family seemed to enjoy themselves, atmosphere was nice. If you like assorted finger foods it's pretty cool and we did like the idea of saucing our own meats. Would we race back, I doubt it. Smoke and Bones is a neat concept and quality food but nothing amazing. The staff are polite and the dining areas are nice and clean. Maybe we just don't have the Southern flare I guess because the food didn't blow us away.
We've been there several times. The service is good, sometimes great. Depends on the experience of the waiter. The food is excellent. We love the way they smoke the ribs so that we can add the flavour as we want. We often go on Wed nights which are 30cent wing nights. The wings are juicy and wonderful smoke flavour. We also get the SNB Platter, which includes a full rack of ribs, 1/2 chicken, brisket, coleslaw and corn muffins, plus a side. The platter is meant for 2 people, but it feeds our whole family of 4 with leftovers. There's enough for everyone to try. The owners are great. On our first visit, our developmentally disabled son took an interest in the smoker and Erin, the owner, showed him everything. Whenever we visit, he sees us, comes over and says hi, and spends a bit of time with our son at the smoker... that's great service and makes us feel special. Overall, great food and a great pleace!
Went to Smoke and Bones for Valentine dinner. Since it’s one of the busiest nights of the year, I usually have pretty low expectations when it comes to service and food. We were seated right away, up in the higher levels because as we were told – the band can be pretty loud. (Actually, I didn’t think they were that loud, but I liked the upper level anyway). Almost everything that others had posted here wasn’t available as they have changed there menu a few weeks ago. We ordered the Smokin Wings and the unappetizingly named “Barnyard Platter”. Everything comes bare without sauce and you add your own choice of 6 sauces at the table. The platter has brisket, pulled pork, and half a chicken on it along with a side which we chose as potato wedges. The meat was all cooked nicely and having the sauces on the side let us try the different ones on different meat. The only loss here is that the meat isn’t as nicely coated when it’s a do it yourself thing. This is definitely not a restaurant for vegetarians – not a problem for us. The Cornmeal muffin was – well a Cornmeal muffin and I would have preferred a good bun. The Coleslaw was tasty, but with a little too much sauce- the bottom was swimming. The service was very friendly and helpful – more honest and straightforward than most. Unfortunately, when she brought plates for our meal, they were small sandwich plates instead of dinner plates, but they were quickly replaced with larger ones when asked. Also there was an error on the bill that was quickly fixed when pointed out. Overall, it was a good dinner for a Valentine’s Day – she was busy and running pretty hard. Next time, I’d like to try the baby back ribs.
Went in for a double date dinner on monday night, was excited to try the place for the first time. Arrived for dinner at 6:30, they had a beer tasting going on, fine, but should of had it someother place than right at the frount door there was noplace for anyone to move going in or out. Arrrived at our table glanced over the menus, and ordered drinks. Live band started up at about 7 and the music was WAY to LOUD im one for live music but think if you can't have a conversation while the music is playing it's to loud. Ribs were very dry!! they just dont taste the same when they arent basted in sauce while cooking, cornbread is gross cheesey bread was ok but its the same as jackasstors bread. The only thing about this place is there trying to do everything half way through or meal we had a shooter girl come around and offer us shoots, your either a restaurant or your a bar with a shooter girl!! Wouldn't go back for the food maybe cheap pitches of beer but not the food.....GROSS!!!! The mac and cheese is discusting.
Wasn't sure what to expect, thought likely a psuedo-southern BBQ. The preparation was actually up to par with some of the better BBQ joints I have frequented in the South. The ribs were kept moist and tender with deep pink smoke colouring, for me the rub was a bit salty, nothing to be down about . The chicken was very moist, well flavoured but might have been put in cool oil, not much batter on them. it was still very passable, and I'm not such a fan of fried chicken. Pulled pork had good smoke flavour, was moist and had a good smoke ring. The crisp fries were a big hit for me, a wonderful consistency inside , flavoured well. The coleslaw was good, finished it all. Overall they are doing so much right, very faithful to what Southern BBq is meant to be, kept the sauces on the side so the product spoke for itself. Kudos for knowing and caring to do it right!
This is my 5th time there again, and to say the least it was AWESOME!!! Wow the brisket sandwich was the best, I ask what this beef was, as it melted in my mouth, the waiter said it was CAB, I asked what does that mean, he said it is Certified Angus Beef. Then he continued to educate us on this great sandwich and how the chef served nothing but the best top quality here, All the item were hand picked by the chef and the owners. Once again wow when a place takes this much time to care, that means something. Anyway check this place out and have a real Southern bbq experience!
London, ON has finally got its self a real classic barbecue/smoke house. As soon as I heard this place was opening we had to be some of the first to try it. We were not disappointed at all. We ordered the BBQ for 2- which is probably the best deal on the menu. The amount of food you get for $30.00 is great. The pulled pork was the best thing on my plate. The ribs were great, although the dry rub isn't the best, but they still taste great. The idea of have different types of sauces available at your table is great as well. My favorite was Memphis. The fried chicken is okay. It's good, but not great. The coleslaw is great as well. It has the perfect crunch and isn't the type that has been sitting in the back of the kitchen all day. Another bonus is the cheap pitchers of beer. We definitely left with our bellies full and smiles on our faces. Another great thing we noticed was that it was real busy and the manager was offering customers a free appetizer while they wait. I thought that was very kind of them, not a whole lot of places would do that. We have returned since our first visit and will be back again for another visit.
Had the brisket and Wow, what a sandwich, I had the Ribs again and Wow, dessert was great. I had the cobbler and my friends followed suit, it was so nice and light, the peaches were in the caramel perfectly. In my opinion the best bbq around anywhere.
The best ribs I have ever had. I will go back again and again. The server I had knew exactly what was going on. The chef actually come out of the kitchen and asked how my food was, "very cool" The chicken wings are to die for and the peach cobbler well need I say more WOW!. My personal favourite " what they called fixin' " was the macaroni and cheese we added on to our meal for only $3.99, it was high end Italian restaurant quality. The atmosphere of this place is very rustic with the smell of smokey goodness. When you go there ask for the smoker tour it is very cool. Cheers to everyone and try this smoke house!!
Worst ribs I ever had, cold dry tasteless poor service, took the ribs home to my dog.
Sorry, these were the worst ribs I have ever had. Food was cold and the waitress was rude.
