Don’t let the name fool you
Chimney Rebuild : I went with Quality Masonry because Michael (owner) said he could match the existing stone that was used to build the original chimney. Shortly after putting down a deposit Michael had informed me that he not able to get the stone and to pick out colours from the sample stones he had brought. We both agreed to go with stone in the corners and brick to match the house. After demolition of the old chimney and materials were brought on site I was told that the clay flues exiting the cap had to be replaced at an additional cost. After all the brick and stonework was done Michael called saying that there was more cutting (Michael sets every stone and brick) and wanted to be compensated. Unprofessional to be complaining about a job that you have taken on in my opinion. This would have been a 4 star rating but with the brickwork crooked in spots it looks poorly done. Bricks not level, bricks stepping in and out, large and uneven mortar joints. Also the mortar colour is two different shades. Crew working on site were great and cleaned up well after. 34+ years of experience, really does not show. Pictures of both sides are provided.
