best shawarma in toronto
Hands down, one of the best shawarmas I've ever had. Wil be going there again very soon. Ask for it spicy. It's the best! And not too spicy.
THE SHAWARMA HERE IS UNIQUE. THE TASTE IS QUITE DIFFERENT FROM OTHER PLACES. MEAT IS TENDER AND JUICY WITH NO TRACE OF FAT. SAUCES ARE ALSO UNIQUE. THEY ALMOST HAVE A PEANUT TASTE TO THEM. WHATEVER IT IS THEY ARE PUTTING IN HERE IT IS WORKINGG CAUSE THERE IS LINE UPS ( BIG LINE UPS ) OUT THE DOOR AND DOWN THE PLAZA AROUND DINNER TIME. AND WHY NOT? AT $6 FOR 2 SHAWARMAS (CHICKEN OR BEEF OR MIX ) YOU CANT GO WRONG. FALAFFEL HERE IS ALSO VERY VERY GOOD. AND ONLY $5 FOR 2
Maybe the best Shawarma I have ever tried. I have toured the middle east and thougt that the Shawarma in Syria is the top, but this place proved me wrong.
This place simply has the best shawarma. They basically put a very typical cooked spicy sauce that seems to be of pak-indian origin. Since I love spicey food - this place is a wonder for shawarma. Unfortunately they close early (around 9pm every night). The service has been consistently good here too.
I live on the Lawrence strip. A friend of mine and I made it our goal to try EVERY Shawarma joint in the area. Shawarma Empire is hands down my favorite! The sauce is like no other around and has a very unique and delicious flavor. The meat is juicy and fresh. The pitas are fresh and soft. The toppings are excellent and the service is very warm, friendly. and family like. The only drawback is trying to find a parking spot in the VERY busy little strip mall. I will often park across the street and cross Lawrence ave. to make it to this place. It is worth it. Excellent shawarma at an excellent price.
I am from Ottawa. Well, no need to debate NHL teams, or any other items... but one thing is for sure.... Ottawa Shawarma is better than Toronto Shawarma. Ask any one who's tried the two. BUT... BUT... BUT... there is a Toronto contender. SHAWARMA EMPIRE. unfortunately we were late and they only had a couple of food options. We tried the Beef Sandwich and the Falafel plate. AWESOME. try to hot sauce... it's hot! the food is great. will be back next week to try the chicken. Shawarma Empire is a must try.
I've been to Shawarma Empire a few times now and I can say they serve some excellent shawarma. They have a different flavour profile from most shawarmas I've had in the past and I love it! Their hot sauce sets them apart, it's not too hot but adds excellent flavour as well as heat. I think there's some curry in the sauce which adds an excellent touch. The meat is juicy and tender, and their mixed salad with pickled turnip and pickles great! Service is very fast as the last two times I've been there has been a line stretching out the door which moved quickly. My only complaint is that the restaurant needs a bit of a clean up, it's a little grimy looking. Parking is a pain as well because that end of the strip mall is always packed. The best shawarma in the east end.
The food and service was great, Pure hidden gem. Definately go check it out, its worth it.
The staff are very friendly and quite helpful if you are unfamiliar with the world of shawarma. They give you a very good sized serving of meat with the option (free) of some great curry-flavoured hot sauce.
great food, good prices, service is fairly efficient, great experience overall, highly recommend
Order it spicy! Have tried both their Chicken and Beef in the past. Probably the best shwarma place in the city!
My God this was good. The place smells wonderful and the falafels are freshly made. They come out crunchy on the outside and fleshy and fragrant on the inside. The pita is perfectly grilled and stuffed with a wonderful vegetable combination that includes thinly sliced dill pickles. When the hot sauce mixes with the tahini the combination will leave you craving more, and maybe teary eyed. I had two and today I'm wishing it wasn't so far away. An incredible experience.
The best in town and they are not expensive at all. it is worth every dime you spend.
