My husband and I like to meet friends once a week for breakfast. We like Lancers the best. I have tried some others in the area but they can't compete with Lancers. The food is always served hot by friendly staff. My toast is never dry and they even remember what tea we like before we ask. Always enjoy eating at Lancers.
The best breakfast at the best price in St. Catharines
indeed best breakfast you'll find anywhere especially for the price friendless and speed alaws a safe bet ...
It's no wonder why this place is packed on Saturday and Sunday mornings. People know good home-cooking breakfasts! Friendly staff and priced right. (but the castle wall has to come down!!)
I must admit I am biased. My wife and I purchased the Lancer in February of 2010 and have made extensive changes to the decor. We kept all the kitchen and serving staff and the homefries are as flavourful as ever. We remodeled both washrooms, took down the chintz curtains and brightened up the dining room with new lighting. The medieval castle wall remains, since it is a part of the history of the Lancer. The restaurant is cleaner, brighter and business is booming. Don't let old reviews drive your decision. I invite you to come and see for yourself and enjoy the pleasant and friendly atmosphere of the Lancer
The decor was... well, it reminded me of a room after a bowling banquet in the 70's. Crossed with a trailer. And it didn't strike my husband or I as particularly clean. The food was just barely okay. Not gross, not great. The service was so-so. Friendly, but not very interested in us at all. We won't be going back.
I was a bit disappointed with my last visit to the Lancer. I usually go there to cure a rough Sunday hangover and get the hungry man special. The portions seems skimped out on as before it was more. The food is good but if I am paying $6.25 for a breakfast I better get a larger portion
With homefries like those, how can you not love it? There is nothing like a Lancer special when you are hung over from a night of partying... or just a casual Sunday morning breakfast.
The food would of tasted a lot better, if the service was there. The main problem is the waiters are rude, and do not check on you. I know it gets really busy, but even than it is not a reason to be rude to customers.
