Founded in 1951, the British Canadian Chamber of Trade & Commerce is governed by an elected Board and its mission is the promotion of the transatlantic business interests of its members. The Chamber is a private sector non-profit organization that receives no funding from either the Canadian nor British Governments, however the BCCTC maintains a close relationship and receives support from the British High Commission, and its offices across Canada, and DFAIT. The BCCTC, through a Memorandum of Understanding, maintains close ties with the Canada-United Kingdom Chamber of Commerce and other Chambers based in Britain. This agreement encourages meetings of key leaders in both the UK and Canada. In addition the BCCTC is a member of the British American Business Council (BABC - babc.org) that is made up of an association of 33 British American Chambers across the USA and Mexico; and has a seat on the Board of the European Union Chamber Commerce of Canada, which is made up of the 25 countries with active associations here.more...See more text
