While Goods and Provisions maintains a steady flow of Leslieville’s dinner crowd most nights of the week, it’s probably best to make reservations for the weekend.
“Give us a ring,” says Angus Myles, the tiny tavern’s main guy and managing bartender since 2014. Angus has been interested in cocktail culture, wines, spirits, whiskies and gins since his early 20s when he frequented and worked at bars around the world in between tours as a sound technician and tour manager for Broken Social scene and other Canadian bands.
“I like watching the bartender, even if it's the 30 seconds of cracking a beer,” he says. “There’s an acknowledgement of one person to another, not unlike walking down the street and saying hi to a stranger.”
Why open a bar in Toronto? “I just wanted to be part of the community I was living in,” he says. Choosing to settle in Toronto and spend his evenings behind the bar at Goods and Provisions has been one of the best decisions Angus ever made.

This tiny east-end tavern is known for its high caliber specialty drinks, both thirst-quenching and savoury.
