“I help people become the person they want to be, to be the best versions of themselves when they need a little bit of help,” says Shiva Safari, when asked to define her professional objectives. This “locked-in” feeling is something Shiva knows all too well. “When I was ten years old, I wanted to be a therapist,” she says. "But 20 years on, I found myself a 30-year-old in an unhappy marriage and unfulfilled at work. I was smoking like a chimney and was carrying a few extra pounds. I was able to turn things around in my favour, and it was all through hypnotherapy,” she recalls.
A graduate of the Hypnosis and Motivation Institute, located south of the border, Shiva offers her clients hypnotherapy services to help them overcome their challenges and achieve their goals. “Many people use these services to quit smoking, but to also shake off heartbreak, for example,” says Shiva. “Results speak for themselves: a lot of my clients were able to kick the smoking habit thanks to hypnotherapy.”
According to Shiva, there’s nothing too esoteric about hypnotherapy; she presents it as a way to reframe one’s life based on expected accomplishments. “There’s no magic trick to hypnosis; it’s not a performance,” she stresses. "It’s a state of calm and plenitude which favours decision-making.”
