This 70 seat, much anticipated, local pub on the increasingly popular Queen East strip fills a much needed void in Leslieville. The Roy features Sunday brunch, a British menu with standard pub far and a well stocked brew list.
A great atmosphere reminding me of the pubs back in England. But with better food. The service is quick and friendly: happy staff and owners and a most accomplished chef (Big John) in the kitchen. Try it! If you don't like it, I'll buy you a pint.
Stop right here for a half-pound burger made of Ontario grass-fed beef – and don’t be afraid if it’s still a little pink in the middle. Enjoy the freshness straight-up or with toppings like pea meal bacon, caramelized onions, goat cheese and Portobello mushrooms. The bar serves craft, import and fine domestic beers in a warm, relaxing atmosphere of wood panelling and subdued lighting.
This Irish pub has more authenticity than you’ll find in much of the city, from the warm wood decor to the candle-like chandeliers. And, with the size of the sandwiches, your meal will be hearty enough to match your Guinness – or any of the oodles of beers they have on tap and in bottles. One of the best choices for satisfying a ravenous appetite is the half-pound beef dip, which comes with horseradish mayo and a side of chips.
From the wood-panelled booths to the embossed wallpaper, you’ll feel like you’ve stepped into a little piece of Ireland at The Roy. They hold the worthy distinction of being the first Irish pub in the area. A healthy selection of craft and bottled beers will surely appeal to all palates, as will a craft beer menu that includes the likes of Muskoka Detour and Muskoka Mad Tom. They also have good, hearty comfort food on the menu, as well as daily specials.
