The food is excellent... the service was very polite but very slow... there was a bartender that did all the waiting aswell no matter how busy... would I go again... yes doing that tonight... 2 things need to change here... they need to open at least 6 and they need more staff... if tonight turns out the same as last time, I'm sure I WONT be back...
My girlfriend and I wanted to try a mexican place in Windsor because how much of a pain it is to cross the border. We decided to try this place. It's a hole in the wall but we didn't care as long as the food was good. The tacos were pretty good but the two other things weren't too good. The beans looked like they sat under a heat lamp, they looked gross. The worst part was we ordered a flamming cheese. Expecting something to come out either flamming or cheesy, we get a pile of taco meet in a pile with some mozz cheese sprinkled on top! Worst flamming cheese ever!!! Won't be back.
This is my second time going to Acapulco Delight and much like the first time, I was not disappointed. I was hoping to see Albert (one of the owners' son as his guest service is second to none! not to mention he knows the BEST dishes to order!). I digress, I may have stated in a previous review that the decor of Acapulco Delight is a big dodgy at best but let me make this perfectly clear: you don't go to a restaurant for the decor. The food was exceptional, the service was lightning-fast and it was all in all a great dining experience. This is Grade A Mexican food at its best! It's definitely one of Windsor's best kept secrets!
OK, as most people in Windsor know, there are some stories about some things that go on during the after-hours of Acapulco Delight (not with the owners themselves, but with the after-hours clientele). Forget those stories and try this restaurant. The decor and restaurant itself does look sketchy, I'll admit that, but the food is amazing. The food was cooked perfectly with the textures being spot-on. What I mean is that the beans weren't some plaster-like paste, the rice wasn't mushy and the fried dishes weren't greasy and heavy-feeling. Forget the stories and the decor, what matters here is the food. Acapulco Delight nailed it dead-on when it comes to getting the food right. Look at it this way, if they've been open for over 25 years without any advertising, they must be doing something right. Good food always sells itself. My first outing to Acapulco Delight was by far, the best meal I've had in a very long time. Highly recommended! Sure, there are going to be people that trash talk this restaurant on these reviews, but honestly, the food here is beyond good. Just my 2 cents.
Great food with great price. My first time went there with my friends last week but spent less than $10 for my meal. I ordered a combo with everything a little bit that my friend recommend for me. It was great and big dishes. Will go back again for sure !
the restaurant is good..food good but they just need to upgrade a little, iv been goin there for years so i definetely enjoy it. The people are very nice and friendly!
The food, in my opinion, was not all that great. I had it delievered so I have not gotten the chance to go to the restaurant, however, I do have to admit that it looks awfully run down and sketchy from the outside. Anyways, to each their own taste, we all can have different opinions. Apparently, Gill is too immature to recognize that.
For all of those that have anything bad to say- It is quite obvious that you can't appreciate excellent food. Acapulco Delight is by far the most authentic . 100 times better than any restaurant claiming to serve anything similar to what they have on their menu( including Detroit establishments).
The service was good, the food delicious, the menu expansive, and it was almost ridiculously well-priced. I spent $25 for TWO people to eat -- tip in. And I had food to bring home. Nice.
great food, great for parties, very accomodating, great people dishes are great to split due to the generous portion size, unless you have a big appetite
I agree with Tim, it was really, really really good, and I saw him there that night and he was really, really, really good looking. Think Shia Labeouf in Transformers.
The food is INCREDIBLE! They have the best refried beans and free fresh, homemade nachos. The servings are generous and delicious. The atmosphere and decor leaves a lot to be desired. They could EASILY be the best restaurant in Windsor if they fixed the place up so it doesn't scare people away at the door. My family wanted to leave immediately, but since it was MY birthday I insisted. The owners are friendly, helpful and want to make sure you enjoy yourself. He even offered me free Tequila shots for my birthday. :) As for the family, they say the food is great but they can't get past the decor.
This place is literally the best kept secret in Windsor. The food is authentic and simply amazing--very good prices. We are all university students so it needs to be fairly cheap and the amount of food you get for the price is incredible. We love this place, it's become an addiction (lol). Don't shy away because of the location, try it and i promise you will not be disapointed with the service, prices or quality of food!!

Really tasty and quaity food. The refried beans were better than anywhere else I've been. Good portion sizes and friendly service.
