I've been a regular at Shawarma Palace for over 10 years. The food is great, the ingredients are always fresh, the staff are friendly and quick, the resturaunt is always clean, and the owner is amazing, he greets every customer as they come in, and wishes everyone a good day as they leave and thanks you for coming. They make the best shawarma I've ever had. I love this place.
Had a beef Shawarma with the fixings, tasted amazingly flavourful with out being over baring. The people serving were very kind and had a good sense of humour. The place was nice for sitting and eating, also very clean. I highly recommend eating here when in Windsor! I know I will be visiting them when I'm in Windsor again. :)
i go there every time i am downtown the owners are super friendly and make you feel like your part of the family. the shawarmas are to die for service is fast and they remember my order i dont even have to tell them....THE BEST
We really enjoy the food at this place. We usually get the shish kabob plate. I've tried the swarma and I'm not fond of it. It's good but I like more spices in mine. The hummus and babaganoush are good and the falafel is the best I've ever tasted. I love how they season their roasted potatoes. Really delicious. Their grape leaves are ok. I'm not crazy about their kibbeh, but then they make it to appeal to the Canadian palate, ie; they don't put cinnamon and pine nuts in it (which is the way I want it). My Mother is Lebanese and I grew up on Lebanese food. I go here because you can get reasonable Lebanese food at a reasonable price. Overall the food is always fresh and the place is clean. If you want good Lebanese food at decent price I recommend this place.
This is the only Windsor eatery I frequent. They have a great chicken salad. The owner is a very outgoing guy that makes you feel like he's happy to see you. This is unusual in Windsor and I find the place a breathe of fresh air. The ingredients are also fresh. They buy good produce and seem to make an effort to serve healthy food not just filler. Their garlic sauce is so good. Prices are resonable and portions are good. This place makes the trip to otherwide empty downtown worthwhile. The city should be thanking this guy.
Shawarma Palace is the best in Windsor, Their garlic sauce is delicious. The owner is really nice and so are the staff. It gets busy in there especially on saturday nights but that just proves how great their food is. everytime I go in there, which is a lot, it's clean. Shawarma is AMAZING !
After a busy night of being downtown ( a friend's birthday), another friend and I decided we should try this shawarma restuarant. Already tired from being absolutely sober during a night long adventure in Windsor's downtown drunkfest Saturdays, we happily waited in a line going out the door (evidently filled with more drunk people). Upon being next to order it appeared as though the servers had a line going; one to take the order and set up the bases for it, one to apply meat if desired, one to package and finally a person on cash. I placed my friend's order (a vegetarian wrap, lettuce pickles sauce) as well as mine (a chicken shawarma, lettuce and sauce) which seemingly is a farily easy order. We watched as they set our wraps up, correctly, but minded the rest until we (slowly) moved to the cash, upon paying I still had to wait a few minutes for our food (but I do understand given the circumstances of having a restuarant downtown and it being a Saturday night). We found a table which we had to clear ourselves as the entire staff was helping behind the counters and not anywhere else. Upon unwrapping our food we came to notice two completely different wraps, we brought it back and simply stated we must have been given some one elses order, but the 'chef' insisted that was our order. We told the person on cash our actual order, she shouted it the the first man and we sat down to wait. Finally our orders were back yet my friend's vegetarian had chicken in it (not only incorrect, but highly offensive to her). We took her wrap back and stated it was suppose to be without meat. The cashier agreed that's what she had heard and shouted to the 'chef', the chef angerily ripped the wrap out of my friend's hand and began making her a new one, Finally we sat down, yet again... only to reveal her wrap was without sauce... yet they had just gone over her order more than 3 times now... She shyly stared at it and shrugged it off stating she supposes they were just too busy and clearly she wasn't going to get what she wanted. I, quite shocked at all that had just occured walked straight to the chasier and stated that I would like a refund seeing as how they clearly cannot get this right, when a man (to whom I would presume the owner, and if it is a family owned restuarant, the father) interuppted me to shout at his wife "what's the problem!" she stated back, with me agreeing, all that had occured, but he cut both of us off to state "we heard before what you had order, and we've made it 2-3 times now!" to which I stared blankly at him and said "...exactly, so why isn't it correct yet?" My friend had come up to see if she could help with the situation as it was quite clear the owner was angered, as soon as she stepped beside me the owner grabbed her wrist and shook her hand that was holding the wrap and began yelling, both of us backed off immediately and I stated how appauled I was, we walked out (quite honestly in fear of where the situation was going) and have never returned. I can honestly say I've never had an experience like this, and although I'd love to be nice and attempt to excuse the actions that took place, on being swarmed with drunk people, what occurred was NOT okay, or acceptable. We have actually took the matter to the police and have since been awaiting a reply.
We always get the beef shawarmas. Nothing special, but tastes good. Very quick service. Always packed. If you look next door, the other workers at the rival shawarma place are playing cards. Last time I went, the building was for lease. Clearly, Shawarma Palace is dominating the downtown scene. Greatest shawarmas from their category. However, since trying Kabobgy (which has fresh meat grilled to order), I haven't been as enthusiastic about Shawarma Palace as before .. Not too mention, my dad's a picky eater, and doesn't like how the employees touch the lettuce, then the pickles, then this, then that, etc. Employees are very friendly though.
I LOVE this place. I always go for lunch here, when I'm downtown. The staff & owners are always very friendly & accomodating; portions are very generous. The salads are nice & fresh, the chicken is very well seasoned & tasty. I highly recommend the Shawarma Palace, & bring my friends here, often!
I want more and more and more! This place is by far my favourite restaurant. I just have to say it. Their grape leaves and tabouli are so good but this time I tried their baba-ganoush for the first time. It wasn't what I expected. When my Mom and I make it we char the eggplant so black and put in so much garlic it could knock you across the room and that's what I was expecting... but was delightfully surprised. Their charing is subtle. The baba-ganoush is so creamy and smooth with a hint of olive taste. Magnificent! I could never get enough of it. The falafel is fluffy and perfectly seasoned. No words to describe how good it is. This is the best Lebanese food I've had in years, possibly ever had.
As good as my Mom's cooking and even better (except, of course, nobody beats my Tabouli). Don't limit yourself to shawarma - go there lots and try everything! If you've never had their "shishtawook" your taste buds haven't lived (it's tender! tender! chicken grilled on a skewer. It takes a few minutes to cook because it's FRESH chicken). I'm not crazy about their regular salad - lettuce pieces too big, don't like green pepper, where's the lemon juice?... I'd rather have tabouli (parsley salad). Unfortunately, I must say that their kibbeh is the worst - dried out. But, there's so much MORE to eat that is SO good. THE BEST HUMMOS (better than mine - wah). And I just found out they DELIVER. Whoo-hoo!
This place is by far the best fast food restaurant ive ever been to, the garlic sauce is absolutely amazing, the employees are friendly and you cant beat the price. 5$ For a combo including shawarma with onions, lettuce, garlic sauce(best sauce ever) and tahini sauce. Potatoes with garlic sauce and a pop.
Awesome shawarma at a truly awesome price! You can't beat $4.99 for a shawarma, a side and a pop! Very garlicky and great! I'm hooked.
Great food, the potaotes with the garlic sauce are AWESOME. Very fast service for the amount of customers they receive at once. Just the staff looks a little scary sometimes.... But I recomend you going, and if you do go, try the potatoes with garlic sauce... you wont regret it... (make sure you have mints tho lol) Must GO!!!
First the hummous, was easily the best I have ever had period. The rice was hot and is perfect everytime, and THIS IS THE BEST SHAWARMA PLACE IN WINDSOR. The Shawarma was stunning, the garlic sauce is a perfect blend, the toppings are fresh, and the chicken is perfection.
good backlava too. get lots & theyll give u sum extra free.
chicken shawarma, always good after a long night of boozing. I dont know what's worse in the am though. the hangover or the garlic breath! small price to pay for great food
90% of the time we get great service and the food is always good. But when the restaurant is busy they occasionally recieve the wrong order
I thought the food was wonderful like most shawarma's the location is good for me, as well as the shawarma express on techumseh and mc dougall. both have wonderful food
shawarma palace is one of the best places to eat in Windsor!! I highly recommend that if you are in the downtown or ouellette area try this place out. They are so friendly in there
