I began working as a Kinetic Swedish Massage therapist in 2005. KSM is a technique that promotes greater amplitude of movement and helps to obtain total muscle relaxation with focus not only on the muscle belly but also the attachments- tendons.
I then continued taking courses in Hotstone Massage, Reflexology and Massage adapted for pregnant women.
In 2012 I decided to go back to school and take a course In Muscle Activation Techniques, and have been working in the field since 2013. MAT is a biomechanically based evaluation and treatment system that provides a systematic approach for treating muscular imbalances that contribute to injury and helps determine why there may be increased stress in the tissue or articulation.MAT is unlike other techniques working to improve muscle function, in that, its not trying to relax the muscle by massaging or stretching it, but is trying to activate the muscle that has lost its contractile capability.
