Clara Kwan was raised on good food. “I always loved good food and I had never understood why in Westmount, there wasn’t a farmer’s market,” she explains. She took action by creating her vision of a health food store, to offer people another choice. For Clara, this means fresh food from local farms and artisans, and premium, organic and fair trade imported goods. With its exposed graystone foundations, L’Autre choix mini marché is a foodie’s root cellar.
Fresh on the job market, Clara became aroused by the notion of self-sufficiency. Having spent five summers volunteering and working on local farms, Clara had equally developed relationships with local farmers, and she had perceived the need for a middleman.
