We are an all-in-one solution for your canine care needs. Day Stays, Overnight Boarding, Socialization Visits and Door to Door Services are some of the many unique on-site offerings.

We are not a drop off centre and every new dog joining undergoes a integration process to ensure all our dogs are a good match. Our intentional approach reduces the risk of transmission, minimizes emotional stress for the dogs, and ensures consistent behaviours and reliable services. By maintaining this careful balance, we can dedicate our time and resources to building strong, lasting connections with our human and canine clients.

As we acknowledge there are no official standards in the industry, we would like to inspire other heart-centred dog businesses to take a holistic approach to modern dog care.
We created a dog paradise on a beautiful acreage. Surrounded by nature yet conveniently close to Squamish, our location offers the perfect blend of tranquillity and accessibility.
At Doghaven, we understand the importance of providing our furry clients with a kennel-free environment that promotes freedom and happiness. Our facility boast multiple indoor and outdoor areas. From interactive playtime to lounging in the sun, every moment at Doghaven is tailored to meet your dog's specific needs and preferences.
Our lounging space offers a cozy retreat for dogs to relax and unwind. Outdoors, we have thoughtfully designed play areas, including pools, sandpits, and an agility park. On the trails, we carefully match small groups based on the individual dog’s needs and abilities.
Our facility is equipped with everything a doggy heart desires, guaranteeing a stimulating and enjoyable stay.

Michelle and her Team genuinely care and understand dogs. They are always welcoming and available to chat to about any concerns. Our dog, Juno has been visiting Doghaven since she was a puppy and visits with enthusiasm. We can leave her knowing that she is in professional care, will have a fantastic mountain hike, garden play and the best homely rest area. Doghaven knows dogs and weather and adapt the day to the dogs best interest. This is very special to us and we are very thankful to have them near us.

We have two dogs that visit Haven both for daycare and boarding. One of our dogs is very anxious and nervous, which is a challenge that Michelle and team have embraced. In the past we'd been reluctant to board our anxious dog because it was so traumatic for everyone involved, but with the success we've had with Haven we're now very comfortable leaving him in their care and being able to enjoy our vacations.

You can HEAR my dog headed for daycare when he's on his way to Doghaven, as he starts squealing and barking and dancing as soon as we turn off the highway - he knows the route! Our 4-ish year old dog has been going to Doghaven since he was a little puppy. He's a rambunctious boy with a few minor anxiety issues, and the ladies at DH know exactly how to make him feel comfortable out on hikes and give him the awesome exercise he needs! At the home base, he's Mr. Cassanova and comfortable as can be. I can honestly say that the socialization and exercise that my dog gets at DH is top notch and every single handler there (esp Kyanna and Rachele), and of course Michelle the leader of the pack, are extremely capable, caring, loving actually, and wonderful. We love the Insta photos too - so fun to see our boy out with his friends. Thank you all for being SO good to our family! We appreciate you! <3

Half Day - $45 - 4 to 5 hours
Client Drop off: 7.30 am - 9.30 am
Client Pick up: 12.30 pm
Full Day - $55 - 6 to 8 hours

Extended day - $60 - 8 to 10 hours

Day Visits includes time at our facility, yard play, an on-leash walk and/or off-leash hike. Pick up / Drop off available for a $5 surcharge
Available 7 days a week - 24h stay
Overnight Boarding - $70
Including a full day visit with time at the facilities, on leash-walks and/or off-leash hike and additionally a night at our facility that your dogs know and love.
A $5 surcharge applies during peak seasons.
Weekend drop off / pick up times: 9am or 4pm only
Weekdays drop off / pick up times: 7.30am-9.30am / 12.30pm / 3pm-5pm

Adventure + Pick Up & Drop Off - $45
A 2 hour door to door service including a 1.5hour off-leash pack hike in the mountains.

Supervised Stay & Play - $35 - 2 hours
2 hours of fully supervised structured playtime at our facilities. Perfect for socialising or introducing your dog to our space.

Our staff can care for your pets in your home when you are away, providing them with the needed love, exercise and care.
Our house sitters are fully vetted, insured and bonded for your peace of mind.
Only available for enrolled clients and pets that are okay to stay home alone for some hours of the day.

FAQs

Dog Haven is a safe space where dogs get their needs met.
To ensure this, we require all dogs to be spayed/neutered and up to date on vaccinations.
Dogs coming to Doghaven must be well-mannered and social. We don't mind quirks - we simply need transparent owners telling us about those.
We are kennel-free and ask for regular visits to ensure all our dogs are comfortable with each other.
The dogs are at the centre of our attention. Each dog is assessed, and we develop the best care plan for their needs while finding solutions that fit your schedule.
To care for your dogs best, we need you to be transparent, open-minded and commutative.
All services must be pre-booked and pre-paid. Please book, cancel or change appointments at least 24h in advance and stick to our drop-off times. Timing plays a crucial part in our work. Hikes, walks and groups are planned a day before to match compatibility in energy and ensure safety for all.
We understand that life can sometimes unexpectedly get in the way, and we try to accommodate whenever possible - all we ask for is mutual respect and reciprocity.

Meet the Team

Kyanna

Kyanna's deep passion for dogs has been evident since her early years, growing up surrounded by them and joining her mom Michelle on pack walks with the Dog Haven pups from an early age. She has been officially working for Doghaven since 2015 and cherishes every moment loving and caring for our dogs. Kyanna is an inadmissible part of the team and hopes to continue growing with the company. She plans our walks and hikes each day to ensure all our dogs get their needs met. When she is not at work, you can most often find her out exploring the trails with her Shepherd Osa and looking after her senior Chihuahua Reggie       .
Laura

Originally from Germany, Laura has found her home in Squamish after 6 years of full-time travel. She grew up surrounded by animals and turned her love for them into her career by studying Animal Managment. Fuelled by her passion for dogs and photography, she created her own pet photography business called 'Hounds & Horizons' in 2020. When Laura isn't busy capturing stunning photos of adventurous dogs in the great outdoors or taking care of our pups and Doghaven’s office needs, you can find her enjoying BC’s hiking trails, embarking on a road trip with friends, or volunteering her skills to animal rescues.
Michelle

Michelle, the founder and visionary of Dog Haven, faced initial ridicule when acquiring a business license for a dog daycare 25 years ago. However, she persevered and became a pioneer in Canada's pet care industry. Her primary focus is caring for animals and leading her team, while also advocating for animal and social justice. Michelle’s non-profit ‘Earth Angels’ is dedicated to self-healing, embracing magic's power, and fostering entrepreneurship. Additionally, she serves as a compassionate death doula and end-of-life animal practitioner. She wholeheartedly supports the people of Squamish striving to make a tangible difference.
Tanami

Tanami is an Australian animal lover with a passion for exceptional care. With a background as a skilled hairdresser, she's always found joy in uplifting others — whether through a fresh new look or caring for their pets. Currently traveling on a work visa, Tanami brings her expertise and positive energy wherever she goes. She is dedicated to creating safe, enjoyable spaces for animals and cherishes building strong connections with clients and their furry companions. Proud dog mom to two German shepherds, she brings heart and skill to the Doghaven team.
Melissa

Melissa moved from Ontario to Squamish 12 years ago, discovering her passion for the mountains, energy healing, and dogs. She is the proud mom of two teenage boys. Melissa considers any time spent with a dog as a blessing and finds true comfort in working with them. Whether walking them in forests, providing Reiki healing, or driving them home after daycare, happy dogs are her focus. Beyond her work here, she is also the proud owner her own cleaning business. When not working, she cherishes time with her boys, family and friends.
Rebecca

Rebecca’s deep connection with nature has always been tied to her love for dogs. Growing up hiking the North Shore mountains with her family and their dogs, she developed a passion for the outdoors. In her free time, Rebecca enjoys playing in nature, creating art inspired by it, or simply admiring it, especially when it rains. Rebecca discovered her passion for leadership during her Outdoor Recreation Management studies. Every day with the dogs, she strives to grow, to earn the animals' trust and respect, while having fun together. Always by her side is Bjorn, her adventurous dog with little legs and a big heart.
