If you’re looking to transport your taste buds to Italy, Pasta Amore Pizzeria Ristorante is the place for you. Owner and head chef Claudio grew up near Venice, Italy, working in his father’s restaurant there. At 23 years old, he came to Canada and worked as a chef throughout the Western provinces and Northern territories before owning two successful restaurants in the ‘80s and ‘90s. Then in 1998, Claudio opened Café Amore, which would eventually become Pasta Amore Pizzeria Ristorante.
For 13 years, Café Amore operated as a successful breakfast and lunch spot offering specialty pastas. In 2011, this became Pasta Amore as business continued to grow, eventually adding a specialty pizzeria to its repertoire of authentic Italian cuisine.
“We’ve actually cooked in Italy and we were trained there. With so much competition in the area for Italian restaurants, I think we really excel because of the authenticity of our food,” says Claudio.

Had a great time with my girlfriend and friends. It was a lively night and we got a table in the late evening and was still busy.
This restaurant is in a strip-mall building on Dawson, just off of Willingdon. It's sort of an out-of-the way place but it's really popular for lunch. They do dinner too, but it's usually not too busy since it's located in a non-residential area. They also offer take-out which we've ordered for group lunches at work. A friend and I went there for dinner recently, and we both ended up ordering the same thing - they have a 3-course special (starter, entree and dessert) for $20. We both had the Tortellini Amore (in a rose sauce). It's good wholesome food and as usual, I left with a doggy bag for lunch the next day. The staff are very pleasant and quick - even when it's super busy at lunch you won't have to wait long for your food.
Great little italian restaurant. Pasta dish I had was really good, tasted like homemade pasta. Service was good and the people are very friendly.
