Come enjoy a delightful creation at Fritz European Fry House. They are open after-hours all week. You can get there by public transit and bicycle. They are positioned in a neighborhood characterized with coffee shops, restaurants and merchants.
While Fritz’s Fry House already has a distinct specialty (fries, and lots of ’em), their hot dog is a special late-night only treat that’s not to be missed. Most of the crowd at Fritz is fairly soused and willing to wait for their poutine fix, but don’t miss the humble hot dog here! These guys are made with care – with steamed buns and all. Plus, you can load them up Montreal style, and they’re always available vegetarian as well.
Right off the Granville Entertainment District on Davie, Fritz’s is best visited in daylight hours if you want to avoid drunken revellers pouring out of downtown nightclubs. But if you are one of those revellers, you might be wise to hit it up, too. An excellent absorber, this poutine can be topped with loads of extras and ranges from a $5 small to a $13 bucket. Grab your friends and dig in. Open till at least 3 am.
They may try to sell you on the health benefits of potatoes, but who’s kidding who here? This is deep-fried perfection in a cone. European-style, thin cut frites, double dipped in the fryer, generously salted and accompanied by the dip of your choice — everything from wasabi aioli to Indonesian peanut sauce to parmesan peppercorn. Looking for something a bit more substantial? You can’t go wrong with their poutine, either straight up or topped with savoury extras.
