I contracted Northern Comfort to replace almost all the windows and doors in my house - roughly 6 weeks (May/June of 2018) before the last provincial election. The scheduled date for install on our contract was September of 2018. The work was ultimately completed April 2019 - a full 7 months late. Along the way I was given excuses such as with the provincial rebate were over booked, We cant find installers and - as wild as we lost your doors. If it were not for my persistent calls
Every thing was find at first. A year later there is a water leak. It took a month and 20-30 phone calls to them, but they finally sent out two different people to have a look. They came, had a look and confirmed that there is a leak, took some pictures and left. have called 6-7 more times to have them come and fix the leak, but they don’t return my calls. Terrible service.
Installers Steve and Borin arrived on time, and with smiles to install 6 windows at our home. What a great job! Not a rush job, just a great thorough job. Kept us informed at every step. Both techs were highly skilled and completed a quality installation both inside and out. We will be requesting Steve and Borin when we have additional work done next spring.
I have not yet had chance to test my porch enclosure for the winter season but I am sure it will perform to my satisfaction. The installation team arrived on time and were polite and helpful,leaving the site clean and tidy.
Knowledgeable staff and quality products makes this a great choice to buy your Windows, Doors or Garage Doors. It's nice to see Owners that take such pride in their business and this shows through the entire company. I would recommend Northern Comfort!
I'm taking the time to review all of the contractors I've used to build my Home. I used Northern Comfort in Barrie to purchase my Window Package as well as all Doors for my home. I thought the service people and staff at Northern Comfort were extremely helpful and knowledgeable. The Showroom gave me some good ideas as to which models I wanted in the home. The price was right and the installation date was fairly quick. I would recommend this company for both your window and door purchases. The website was helpful as well. good luck.
The amount of a sales shouldn`t determine the level of customer service you receive, but that was the experience we had with Northern Comfort. Our initial consultation was for an estimate to replace all the windows in our home. Our sales rep was very pleasant and polite and our first impression was a good one. Based on the cost, we limited our purchase to 2 windows and decided to install the windows ourselves. Which is when the service level at Northern Comfort started to decline. The windows that were supposed to be ready in 2-3 weeks, actually took 5-6 weeks to deliver. When we did receive the windows, one window was manufactured with 2 different grill styles. Despite the delay and mix up, we needed a 3rd window and decided to contact the same sales rep who had been so helpful the first time. Again we placed our order and paid cash expecting the new window in approx. 2 weeks. It has now been 6 weeks and we still have not received the window. We contacted our salesman who had left the company for followup, but Northern Comfort would not disclose any information to him. We were finally contacted by Northern Comfort about 3 weeks ago at which time they informed us that they could not locate the invoice/bill of sale. We faxed our copy and confirmed that the order would be placed and our window available in 2 weeks. We have not heard from the company since. In fact when we tried to call on a Saturday, we were told by whoever answered the phone that he had no idea if our window was in, he was "in the back," and we would have to call back on Monday and speak to someone in the office. We would strongly caution anyone interested in dealing with this company. Our experience has lead us to believe that is company is extremely unorganized and unprofessional. Is it too much to ask to deliver on your promise, and if you`re unable to do so, to at least communicate that to your client? With so many window suppliers in the Barrie area, we would recommend going elsewhere.

I have read the review from our customer and would like to respond to his complain. this is a customer who bought a few cash and carry windows. His contract was brought in and honored as any contract would be. On the third contrtact our sales rep at the time decided he would hold onto the contract and the cash that the customer had paid him in full. This being said, we had no idea the third contract exsisted until he called in inquiring about his window. Once we realized what happened, we again honored his contract without payment and the sales rep was let go from our company. We do always try to satisfy our customers from start to finish
