Eva White calls herself the chief fashion officer. “I’ve been in the fashion business all my life,” says the former fashion designer who once owned a string of stores called Babylon Outfitters and her own clothing line. Today, she owns and operates Designer Exchange – a consignment store in Toronto’s Kingsway neighbourhood.
Consignment became a passion for Eva, a resident of the Kingsway neighbourhood who says she always admired the attention to personal style of the area’s residents. “People around here are very well-travelled and they love to shop,” she says. “There’s a lot of good merchandise in this neighbourhood. People have an expendable income so the pieces that come in here are exquisite. We have pieces from Germany, Italy, South America and Spain,” says Eva.
