I dont know if maybe i was spoiled by great sushi before, but the sushi i had was way below any sushi standard i have. i have never tried any cooked meals at this restaurant, i am only talking about the RAW sushi. i feel i left hungrier then when i had arrived. plus they did not have everything avaliable that was on their menu.
For a meal you can't get anywhere else, Koi Sushi is the place to go. Offering fully cooked non fish meals as well, its a fun place to be that is sure to win you over as well.
My first experience at Koi went well. I am not a seafood eater but did not feel intimidated and I ordered the coconut curry chicken. It was delicious. The atmosphere is quite nice. My only complaint: the waiter needs to quit smoking. Not a pleasant smell while eating!
I've visited Koi on several occasions so far. I live in Windsor and it's worth the drive out to Kingsville. The food is fresh and the chefs are friendly and very knowledgable. I recommend sitting at the bar to watch the chefs roll. Have to try a few sake bombs (Little cup of sake dropped into a rock glass of Japanese beer) but be careful they can creep up on you. :-)
When I first took my partner to Koi, she'd never eaten Sushi before, after her first experience she became an instant regular and it is now her preferred restaurant in town.
While the prices are a bit steep compared to other sushi places we save 20-30 bucks by not driving into Windsor and paying for parking so we still come out ahead.
Since our first visit the service has been consistently friendly and helpful. If you're new to sushi feel free to ask questions, all of our stupid questions were answered without embarrassment.
No debit is a bit of a bugger though.
