My favourite kind of food is vietnamese and thai, and this place is the best. I have tried almost every vietnamese or thai restaurant in london (and there are alot!), and this place is easily the best one. The food is incredible. I regularly spend a small fortune on expensive meals. Although this place is dirt cheap, they can charge 10x more per plate and I would still frequent this restaurant, its that good!
The reviewer that judged this place as only good considering its cheap price clearly does not know good vietnamese food. I have been to the most authentic of restaurants, across south east asia, and this place is on par with the best of them. That reviewer must be an owner/employee of some obviously jealous rival restaurant in town.
I recommend this place to all my collegues and friends, and have never heard anything but the ravest of reviews. Definitely give this place a try, it blows every single other vietnamese/thai restuarant in london clear out of the water.
I eat here all the time and honestly I could eat it everyday! Chu and his staff are so nice, they are always happy to see you and are so friendly. The food is out of this world! No nasty american fried chicken balls here, just great authentic viet food! I would highly reccomend the 214-Curry Chicken and the 401-Pad Thai. Also I forget the numbers but be sure to check out the Special vermicelli and the sauteed beef dish as they are amazing as well, and who can forget the 001-spring rolls! Food if great, try it, I gaurentee you'll like it!
This restaurant was awesome. Just east of Huron and Highbury. If you live in that area or are in that area you should be a regular. If not it is worth the drive.

Funny to look over the reviews for this restaurant... it's clear by all the 10-10-10 ratings that this restaurant has a dedicated following. I feel almost guilty writing a review, since I'm one of the regular customers here.
First off... it's a smallish, family restaurant with ugly plastic table-cloths and situated in a dingy little plaza. Funny thing is... this doesn't matter a bit! The family who run it take GREAT pains to learn customer's names (incredible!) and make everyone feel like they belong. How could anyone not want to return?
Some dishes are a bit plain, and some are absolutely stellar. The Pad Thai is unrivalled in London. Same with the avacado smoothies... just incredible. I adore the duck leg soup and the shrimp rolls. The curry is typical vietnamese fare, but delicious all the same.
What is amazing... most dishes are between $5 and $8.... but mostly on the lower side of the range. This is a place I can AFFORD to eat out at quite regularly... and do!
This place makes "the bomb" Pad Thai like no other (understatement). I've sampled Pad Thai city wide here in London and the flavour is simply amazing at TK's. TK's is perfect for a casual dine-in experience, or even take out. It's too bad it is situated in north-east London.
The portions are huge, service is wonderful! The owner knows us by name. He even sits with us and has a chat as we wait for our food - now that is customer service at its best! Very friendly!
To sum this place up, Chef Gordon Ramsay would have no work to be done here. Perfect example of a well managed restaurant. If you don't go, your loss!
