I can't think of a single negative comment to make. I've been there a few times and enjoy it every time. I like the renos, service, staff and food.
I used to live within walking distance of the Bluebird years ago, and still miss it. Recently went back, the decor has changed, but I was happily suprised they still had their escargots pernod, one of my faves there. Our pasta dishes were superb, we needed more bread to soak up the sauce which was readily provided. We ordered take out and they timed it to be ready at the end of our meal, rather than sitting on the table during our meal. I've always had a good experience here, and suprisingly enough one of the staff remembered me as one of their original customers way back when they were new. I'd recommend it for the food alone, but also have not had any bad service issues there. I have tried lots of little bistros and cafes hoping to find a little spot like this close to where I live and so far have just been sorely disappointed, I wish Orangeville would send us some of their restaurants ;-)
We visited the Bluebird Cafe last night for the first time. We were a little apprehensive about the service after reading some of the recent reviews. Not only was the food excellent, the service was friendly, responsive and very helpful, including the blonde waitress. We would not hesitate to return.
I read with amusement recent reviews of The Bluebird. I have been going to The B.B. for years. The food is always great, the seats are always uncomfortable & the blond waitress is always miserable. We have left large tips & tried our best to get her to crack a smile. Forget it! It's almost part of the ambience now. Who knows...maybe she has had a lousy shake in life. We keep going back because the food is excellent. The serving sizes are sensible & the bread is fabulous.
I have been in Orangeville for 12 years and Blue Bird has been my number one favourite restaurant in Orangeville. My friend and I went there 3 weeks ago for dinner and had a very RUDE service from - yes - the older blonder person who NEVER showed any pleasantness and not even said thanks and looked at me when I paid. WHen my friend paid, she said "voila" ???? The food that night was OKAY compared to my past years of experience eating at this restaurant. I came home and i told my hubby that I will never return there again. THe following week, I was telling one of my clients about my experience and he said that they also had the same expreience from the same person - and the reasoning of the other staff is that she is having a BAD DAY b/c of shortage of staff. Well - need we ask why maybe the staff are not coming in if her attitude is like that??? My client convinced me to go back and try again. I think I will and if she is RUDE again, I will pretty much tell her upfront and not go back again. It is too bad that a beautiful pleasant restaurant 12 years ago is losing its quality...
