Meet the owner

Gar Wan Toy and his brother Chang are living the dream, having turned a tiny convenience store that sold video games on the side into a 3,000 square foot retro video game museum where  everything is for sale. And yes, that includes everything from Sega Master Systems and Nintendo Power Gloves to ColecoVision games.

“My brother started A&C Variety as a convenience store 16 years ago,” says co-owner, Gar, “and I was helping him out. We were trying a lot of different things like selling trading cards and sports jerseys but were brainstorming what else we could do.”

The brothers decided on retro video games from retro consoles like the original Nintendo Entertainment System or N64 because it was one thing they were both truly passionate about and nobody else in Toronto was doing it at the time.

Nothing much to say about this place as most negative reviews are proven to be correct. Tried to purchase multiple quantities of a game as gifts for family on their website and it was canceled. Told that "there's a limit of 2 per item"... Is that some joke? Nowhere on their policy is there a limit for purchases lmao Plus that just sounds outright absurd. Next thing you know, they jack up prices on the item through the roof! Talk about a price gouging scummy business. Avoid this place.

Terrible store. Staff is not customer service driven. Do not shop here. The place is a museum - tons of games sitting on the shelves for the last 10 years -- reason why they need to start selling cards and tshirts.

A Retro Gamer's Field Of Dreams

This place has EVERYTHING!!! :O Follow them on Facebook to get the latest news on rare collectables that make it through their doors! Games, Consoles and Tournaments from just about every genre imaginable. Pretty easy to spot too. Just look for the Mario Kart Mural on the wall outside the store front.
