Try ordering a Porn Star at Japas and your server won’t even raise an eyebrow; the Koreatown bar's servers have heard it before. It’s just one of the drinks off the explicit shooter menu that also happens to include a Slippery Nipple, a Mind F*** and Liquid Cocaine.
“We’re trying to create a little bit of fun for the customers,” says co-owner Kim Chou. “It just brings up something to make fun with the customer, conversation with them,” he says, explaining the reasoning behind one of the risqué names.
The fun doesn’t stop there. With the help of Japas' server Miguki Wakahara, Kim’s developed an extensive list of exotic, off-kilter cocktails including the Lamborghini, a libation every bit as flashy as the sports cars it’s named after. Beginning innocently enough with 151 over-proof rum and Kahlúa, the mix is then set ablaze with a blowtorch. The only way to drink the flaming concoction is with a straw. If the pyrotechnics weren’t enough, a server drops in shots of Blue Curacao and Bailey’s for an added kick.
