Meet the owner

The floral bouquets from Sweetpea’s are original and tasteful. Owner Sara Jameson maintains a team of full-time dedicated florists who fashion arrangements for everyday occasions as well as larger events and weddings. “There is nothing cookie cutter about what comes out of this shop,” says Sara.

And the flowers at Sweetpea's are more than just pretty arrangements; they represent a commitment to environmentally responsible products and principles in every respect. Sara cuts the store’s carbon footprint by purchasing locally grown flowers whenever possible and supporting Ontario’s extensive flower growing industry. When she does buy imported flowers, they’re harvested from socially and environmentally responsible farms.

Bouquets are wrapped in biodegradable cellophane (one of the only shops in the province to carry this type of packing material). All stationery is printed on paper certified by the Forest Stewardship Council. The staff even go so far as to launder their own towels rather than using paper towels or a commercial service.

Very few flowers within the carefully stocked fridge at Sweetpea’s are ever wasted. Those that are past the point of retail sale are donated to local senior communities and horticultural therapy programs. Leftover seeds and fall bulbs are donated to nearby schools and community projects. Sara truly believes that you reap is what you sow when it comes to supporting her beloved Roncesvalles neighbourhood.

Flowers left w neighbor who is not a nice person. Flowers in bad condition Contacted owner & here is response: "The flowers were made, as requested, on budget and delivered on the correct day. Although the situation with the neighbour is unfortunate, we followed the delivery policy as set out on our website."

Ruined my elderly father's wedding and then lied about the reason they couldn't complete what they had agreed to.

    A litltle piece of heaven

Sweetpea's is a very special florist in the heart of Roncesvalles. The staff at Sweetpea's are experts in their craft, designing beautiful bouquets that are unique and fitting for the occasion. During the spring and summer months Sweetpea's offers many annual and perennial potted flowers that are a perfect fit for the garden. Poinsettias and Christmas trees are available in the Christmas season. Beautiful decor, gift cards, vases, soaps and trinkets line the walls of Sweetpea's creating a little piece of heaven. After trying several other florists in the area and in Etobicoke Sweetpea's always astounds me with the freshness of their flowers. Bouquets last anywhere from one to 3 weeks depending on the sunlight or indoor temperatures. The prices vary depending on the type of flowers but they are competitive, if not a little cheaper. With a shop full of smiling faces and furry friends this is a must visit place!

    Roncesvalles' New Hidden Gem

It was a total fluke finding this shop. I wasn't planning on buying flowers, but walking in the front door was like opening up a jewel box. First thing I noticed - they have the Venus Florist sign!! That alone is worth a visit. The shop itself is beautiful. It smells so good!!!!!!! They sell Bleu Lavende, which I thought I could only get at the One of a Kind Show. I am SO happy I found a shop that sells it in Toronto. Molly, their floral designer, is as sweet as they come. I started out just looking around and walked out with a beautiful flower bouquet. I wouldn't say the flowers were as cheap as other shops (I spent about $40). But, the flowers were fresh and lasted for over a week. When they were wrapping them up, they asked how long it would be out of water and when I told it would be about an hour or so, and they put a little block of wet foam to keep the flowers fresh until I could get home. That was a nice touch. They use biodegradable cellophane (Who even knew there was such a thing?) and a really nice piece of ribbon, which I ended up saving. I called a week later to order flowers for my friend's birthday and found out they will deliver all over Toronto (girls, you have to tell more people that when they come in). My friend loved her flower arrangement so much, she posted the photo to FaceBook. Sara, the owner, even found a birthday card I had seen in the shop and sent it with the arrangement - that was really nice of them. If you haven't already been in, it is worth the drive to Roncesvalles! (just watch out for the construction)

My favorite new west end Toronto florist.

I am so happy that I have found this adorable little shop in Roncesvalles Village. It is so unique and rustic with the beautiful old tin florist sign and brick walls, the atmosphere is alone enough to make me go back. Appearance aside the fresh flowers are always grown locally and brought in weekly it's so nice to be able to go in once a week and see a whole new selection. I've sent out a few orders to my sister who lives in Oakville and she has always been thrilled with the tone on tone classy color palettes. I am so amazed that it is so cost effective to deliver flowers all the way to Oakville or anywhere in the GTA for that matter from my new favorite florist

The top spots to find Christmas decor in Toronto

The top spots to find Christmas decor in Toronto

With one location on Roncesvalles Avenue and another in Yorkville, Sweetpea's is a flower shop and landscaping company that also brings out a touch of Christmas greenery. In addition to locally grown Christmas trees, Sweetpea's also sells custom and ready-made winter urns, unique ornaments, fir-scented candles and retro puzzles. Perhaps the coolest Christmas piece for your home, though, is the Grinch tree - locally grown Golden Cypress trees in every size and colour bound in wire to achieve the classic Grinch shape. They'd even warm the Grinch's heart!
