Since the early 1990's, my family has been competing on the Southern United States Competition BBQ Circuit (Smoke Shack BBQ, Cindy and Scott McDaniel). With more than 15 titles under their belt, including the three-time South Carolina State Championship, we knew couldn't keep this secret hidden for long. Word soon got out, and every year more and more friends started begging me to bring back some of my family's award winning BBQ meats, sauces, spices and rubs each time we travelled down south. Amazing pulled pork and beef brisket sandwiches with a delicious barbecue sauce. Dry rub ribs fresh off the smoker all day Friday, best ribs around. Fresh cut fries, home made cornbread hush puppies and fresh cut fries - just amazing!! I went 5 times the first week I tried the place. I still go at least once or twice a week. Full rack of ribs with 2 sides all day Friday for $15.99 and you're just stuffed. You are also given a full bottle of whatever sauce you would like to smother everything with... Simply the best.
This is simply the best take out BBQ that I've found. The pulled pork is tender and tangy, and my favorite. My daughter says the ribs are great. The BBQ sauces are excellent, and the cream soda and root beer just add to the backyard flavour without warming up the smoker .
I had a little trouble finding it at first but I am SO GLAD I DID!
It's a simple lunch counter serving food with great flavour and awesome BBQ. My friend and I split two things. The special which was jerk chicken and the pulled pork Sandwich. Both came with fresh cut fries and everything was delicious.
Buster Rhino's brisket cheesesteak sandwich special was the most amazing thing I have ever had. Fresh beef brisket made on-site, melted provolone cheese and sautee'd onions and green peppers. The combination is out of this world - kudo's to the chef!
I have eaten a few times at Buster Rhino's - their pulled pork is a staple in our household - but I gotta say that I will be trying to beef again next time I go back.
Mostly take out with a small eat in area, I eat here at least once a week and it is awesome. They actually have a large commercial kitchen in the back where they make their meats and sauces for other restaurants and stores.
The lunch counter is a bonus and this is a total hidden treasure in the Oshawa and Whitby area. Don't miss it as it's real slow cooked southern BBQ and not the crap you usually get in Canada.
