We went for a family get together (8 adults and 2 kids), and the service was very friendly, drinks and food came quickly. The atmosphere was comfortable. I had the Northern Italian Chicken, which had a tastey white wine cream sauce with mushrooms, but it came with spaghetti meat sauce (the meat sauce was ok, but nothing special), was served on two separate square plates, which was very awkward. Having the two not-so-complimentary sauces served together was boring - I would have preferred my chicken served with a spaghetti tossed in olive oil, garlic & herb, so that I could enjoy it with the white wine sauce of the chicken. My husband had the Chicken Marsala, which he thought was just ok - we make a better sauce at home. All entrees were served in the same manner on 2 separate dishes, so it made for a very crowded table. The salad that was served with the entrees was pretty good - mixed greens, cucumber, tomato, carrot. All entrees were between $15 - $20. I would probably go elsewhere for better quality pasta sauces for the same price range.
I've been disappointed with Francos. They need to get back to their roots and design some interesting dishes. Over the years, they were the place to be. Then their menu became more varied but not in a good way. The Northern Italian chicken is the only thing I'd consider to order there. The salad bar used to be better. The pizza has really gone down hill too.
we were given a section of the restaurant for our personal use.we were allowed to decorate our area and used the front of the restaurant as a recieving line for my father to greet his guests.the service and food was top of the line.we had no complaints and we were a group of mixed ages.our party size was large.we will be back.
After eating a good portion of the menu i realized that i didnt have the stomache to finish the rest because of the slow service or maybe the rat i seen running out the back totally ruined the experience.
Maybe my expectations were too high, but Franco's isn't the restaurant to go to if you're looking for good Italian food. I ordered pasta primavera, which the menu described as "Fresh Garden Vegetables in a White Sauce." The vegetables were borderline mush - very overcooked - and, if they were fresh, I was unable to tell because the flavor had been boiled out. The white sauce was interesting. There is supposed to be Parmesan in the dish. If there was any cheese, there was either very little of it or it was a very low quality because I didn't taste any. The sauce seemed to consist of cream and butter and no seasoning. Overall, very little flavour. At least the pasta wasn't overcooked.
