    Very poor service and food

This place was recommended to us by a friend and I was really excited to try it for lunch as I have a gluten intolerance. Since we hadn't been here before, we walked in and felt very cramped and awkward - didn't know where to go. No one greeted us or said hi to us. Eventually my husband figured out we were supposed to order at the cash register. Then we waited while the guy at the cash finished his conversation with some regular customers... then he said "oh hi, she will be with you in a minute." and walked away... And another girl took over but didn't offer any assistance with the menu on the wall or anything. It felt like one of those snobby places where you're supposed to know what is going on. The menu wasn't very clear as far as what came with the food - we both ordered the OMG's (grilled cheese sandwiches) - and we were never told that it was served with salad. My husband doesn't like salad so that was a big waste and we really would have appreciated her maybe asking if we had been there before and letting us know a few things. Also there are no drinks except for expensive smoothies or water. I feel like they could have iced tea or juice? I ordered their orange smoothie for $7. The total lunch was $36 for two grilled cheese sandwiches, and one smoothie. The grilled cheese sandwiches: the quinoa bread was great but I guess I forgot that this is a VEGAN restaurant and that it is not real cheese! I was only here for the gluten free aspect and would have appreciated the option... anyway the cheese was terrible. I didn't finish my sandwich. The salad was alright. They forgot my $7 smoothie - we had to ask for it. I didn't even want it by that point but since it was $7 we were not going to forget it! It had NO orange taste at all and was warm which I did not like. Again, I didn't finish it. While we were sitting and eating another couple came in and she greeted them and asked if they had been there before, explained the menu, etc. Soooo why not us?! We really disliked the service and the food. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.

    Cute!

I only had a cupcake as I had already eaten when I stumbled upon this place during the Sound of Music Festival in the summer but it was a great first impression. I had a Dulche de Leche Cupcake that was really tasty- not overly sweet. It was not very light and fluffy, but maybe this is the norm for dulce de leche cupcakes? Anyway, it was a very impressive cupcake being gluten free and vegan! I think I remember it was ever sugar-free? The place itself is very cute (so colourful!) and the staff was very friendly. I will definately be back, I am so excited to have a full meal there.

    A rare treat....

Kindfood is an absolute gem! If you’re searching for a vegan food paradise, look no further! This place is adorable – from the bright pink and green exterior to the vegan celebrity quotes on the floor. I always feel welcome when I enter the door. There’s always a smiling face there eager to help. Kindfood has something for everyone – fresh juices / smoothies, sandwiches, baked goods, fresh produce, and hard to find items like Sweet & Sara’s marshmallows and Daiya cheese and much, much more! I live in St. Catharines, but I’m happy to make the 40 minute drive to pick up some goodies.

Awesome Vegan/Gluten Free Cafe & Grocery Store

I've been vegetarian since early childhood & grew up in Burlington...if ONLY Kindfood had been around back then!! I now live out of town but travel in to pick up groceries, have lunch my kids and get amazing gluten-free goodies for my niece. I walk in this place and I instantly feel more relaxed... it has a very peaceful, earthy, friendly atmosphere. The food is delish and people are as pleasantly sweet as the vegan/gluten-free baked goods they create! Whether you're vegan/vegetarian/celiac or even NONE of the above, you should give this place a try!

    What every city needs!

A little bit of everything for everyone. This was my second visit and the friendly staff was super helpful. I had an unbelievably good vegan grilled cheese sandwich with a Beauty salad. My wife had the B.L.A.T. (bacon, lettuce avacado and tomato) that was excellent. After the meal we went back into the shop and bought some hard to find veggie foods. The highlight was in buying the desserts. Kelly arrives at 5:00am to bake them fresh daily and they're awesome! Everything she bakes is vegan and gluten free. We went home with a banana loaf, vegan oreos, red velvet cupcakes, a brownie and some snicker doodles. (I am going to get sooo fat if I keep doing that). My wife was ecstatic because it's so nice to go into a place where she can trust the food to be vegan. I'm sure all you vegans can appreciate that. If you're in Burlington, you have to stop at Kindfood.

    Kindfood - Vegan Mecca

This place is a one stop for everything you have ever wanted. The approach to food and welcoming attitudes is helping bring in non-vegans as well. I love a business that not only helps fill my needs, but is also in the business of changing hearts and minds!

    Great Vegan Grocery

I have only eaten at Kindfood once, but have visited the store to purchase vegan groceries a few times now. They have a beautiful selection, including mostly whole foods and a fine selection of organic produce. Their prices are fair and their staff (and owners) are bright and inviting. They're always happy to meet their customers and help them find whatever they need. If you're in Burlington or Toronto, Kindfood is a must-visit!

BEST VEGAN FOOD IVE EVER HAD!

Finally, a friendly vegan restaurant has opened up in Burlington. For lunch we had the Happy Buddha rice bowl and the OMG grilled Cheeze and WOW they were both amazing. We also had some treats from their Gluten Free & Vegan Bakery! Also amazing! We had two vegan brownies and 20 chocolate chip cookies (which were gone before we got home). haha. All of the staff were extremely welcoming and knowledgeable on all the products in the store! They even gave us a free sample of the cookies when we walked in the door! Not only that they had an assortment of GF & Vegan breads that looked amazing! We WILL be back to Kindfood again and again! We LOVE it!

Finally !!!! A choice for we long neglected veg-heads

As a Toronto expat (sorry) I have been seriously disappointed about the lack of vegetarian and vegan choices in Burlington. My husband and I are both long time vegetarians and enjoy going out for a meal but we have been so limited in the options the restaurants in Burlington have to offer. When I read about the grand opening of this new restaurant in the local paper last week I immediately put a note in my calendar to check it out. I’m so glad I did because this will become my new go-to place for lunch downtown!! I visited 2 times this week and on both times had an amazing take away lunch. My choice on the first day was a curried tofu wrap and my on my second visit I had a sandwich - which I can’t remember the name of but it was equally as amazing. The menu selections are so tempting I’m sure I can even encourage my carnivore friends and co-workers to check it out. At last, a place we can go to get a yummy and healthy meal in Burlington that is not pasta or pizza. I encourage all fellow Burlington vegetarians and vegans to make the effort to support Kindfood. Maybe we can spark an effort to have other restaurants in Burlington take notice of their success and finally include us in their menus too.
