Incredible cuisine and don't forget the cheesecake.
Great food and service both times we have gone there. There is a bit of a wait for the food to be prepared fresh when you order but definitely worth the wait. We took friends with us this time and they also loved their dinners. The chocolate banana dessert was delicious.
My boyfriend and I decided to go here for our third anniversary last year and we will never go back. We made reservations for 6:30, but we arrived at about 6:15. Despite the place being fairly empty our table was still not ready. When we were finally seated we wait HALF AN HOUR for the waitress to come and take our or for drinks!?! She kept coming over and saying "be right there". Our food was fine, but I've had better lobster at restaurants that are far less fancy/pricey. We will not be back here.
I have never had a better dining experience. I would recomend this restaurant to anyone. Our party was happy form the first moment we arrived until we finished our delectable desserts.
The bar side where we ate was freezing! We had to wait for our main course for 40 minutes on a Tuesday night. I could understand if the place was packed but not so. When the meals did arrive the steaks were undercooked and had to be sent back. It was pretty fast coming back which leads me to believe that my steak was zapped! The server was apologetic but it was still disappointing.
What happened????? We had not dined here for some time but remembered it as being pretty good. We were disappointed in the food and service. There are so many excellent dining establishments in the area it's surprising this one is so ho hum.....maybe just a bad night?
We had a bad experience with this restaurant. We had gone out to celebrate a friends birthday, with reservations of course. (About 15 of us) Not one in our goup complimented the food or service. To me it was overpriced for what you got on your plate. The worst part of the whole evening is that Catch 22 charged each of us $8.00 for a piece of birthday cake wether you had a peice or not. Happy Birthday!! I don't think so.
Everything was COLD. Even the waitress was a bit frosty. Does nobody know how to smile at that place? Too bad cause it's a very nicely appointed restaurant.
I can't remember a more perfect night. Friendly knowledgable service and the most incredible seabass I have ever tasted. The seabass was topped with cashew nuts, a chutney with mango and crispy fried spinach. Salad and scallops were spot on and we shared the to die for creme brulle which was complimentary because it was our anniversary. (nice touch)
Of the three restaurants we tried over the Elvis weekend this was our least favourite. Our server was glum. The food was ok, just not great.
For my mother's birthday, thought I'd treat her... at least she was happy... for a while. The waitress was quite capable, and was efficient although somewhat forgetful at times. The dishes were far too overladen and I feel they were trying to compete with their neighbours down street to win over patrons with quantity, not quality (The unnamed Steakhouse)The clamaris were battered like an english version fish and chips! When the platter for two arrived, well I expected, for a $120.00 the chef or a waitress would serve the first plates themselves...quality was poor at best. I ordered the filet (full portion) and recieved a nice sizd filet which had been butchered in two to appear larger, resulting in 2 sad excuses for steak... the sauce was definitely powdered based... I can tell as this slop reacted poorly with my stomach..... and whom ever has heard of serving rice and potatoes for dinner on the same plate!!!!!! Be decisive please!!!!! Creme brulee trio was passable and atleast proper portion sized...For $215.00....HAH! I will NEVER return to this establishment!!!!!!! The one point in their favour, they wished my mother a Happy Birthday with a complimentary piece of cake and song...thank you for that
We found the food to be very very salty. Not good for us old-timers. Nice restaurant though.
I was in the restaurant, food was good, service wasnt, when the management came over they were less then helpfull....don't think Ill go back.
Really felt comfortable here, it was our first visit. My salad was addictively good with the best blue cheese dressing I have ever had, my steak was so good I wished I had ordered a bigger one and this cheesecake blew me away. Our service was top notch as well which really makes for a great night. I don't remember what everyone else had because I was so involved in my own meal but everyone was raving about the whole night
Outstanding fish in the fish & chips. No soggy bits - breading was light and crispy, hot and not greasy. Salad instead of fries was tasty with a nice dressing - although not outstanding. The only complaint was the service - it was SSOOOO SLLLLOOOOW.
My friend and I were in heaven. Our dishes were all superb. I can't remember the sauce on the monkfish but it was so light and tasty, a hint of lemon and garlic with wine and butter, AMAZING compliment to the moist monkfish. The desserts were to die for too. Our server was really fun and really new her stuff. We won't be strangers here, can't wait to go back.
A friend told us about this restaurant some time ago but we put it off because we aren't big on seafood. To our surprise this place offers amazing steaks. The rib eye steak was out of this world, so tender and tasty and the new york was like butter. We loved the offering of both rice and scalloped potatoes and the fresh array of vegetables, grilled to perfection. We were also blown away with the red wine demi glaze too, obviously made from scratch. 2 Big thumbs up on this place
Zack and I started off with some garlic bread with cheese (cus mike says soooooo!!!!!!!!! according to the menu, I must say good call from him), it was great, an excellent serving. Than for our main course, I ordered a wonderful 20 ounce aged AAA Ribeye Steak, garlic butter brushed, medium-rare, along with buttered pasta with parmesan cheese. Perfect is all I can say, absolutely perfect. My brother Zack ordered a Surf and Turf, which included a Beef Tenderloin, fresh Lobster tail, rice and asparagus. While eating I turned to ask him how he was enjoying his dinner, his expression was all I needed to see. I didn't even get to try a bite; he ate everything on his plate and vowed he was in Heaven. Lastly, since the two of us were quite full, we shared a piece of Chocolate Truffle Cake, and let me tell you, if I were to die at that moment, I would have been ok with that. This surely won't be my last time visiting Catch 22. Everything was perfect. Our server was cheerful and great, an absolute pleasure to have. An even greater treat happened when Catch 22's Executive Chef Bob Bickmore came out to the lounge and asked us how our meal was, and I only had great things to say to him regarding out experience here. He thanked us for coming and I assured him that this would not be the last time he saw us there, and it won't be!
We almost never eat out but our daughter insisted on taking us out. The appetizers and desserts were fine. However, the sole was served barely warm while the potaoes on the same plate were steaming hot. My steak was dry, tasteless and tough. The rice was not good and the potatoes were way too salty. We did not complain because we did not want to make our gal feel badly. My neighbour told us about this site to vent our dissatisfaction. The place was packed so people must like it. However, we will stay home. I barbeque a great steak and my wife makes terrific rice and scalloped potatoes but doesn't combine them at the same meal. There I feel better!
As it was a night to celebrate we ordered the seafood platter for two. It was one of the best things I have ever eaten. We had a wonderful time. Our server was fantastic. We loved it and will be back.
